Subject: Local Astronomy Clubs

Hi everyone,

I’m new to astronomy and astrophotography and have been trying to reach out to the only local club I could find. Unfortunately, after several emails, I haven’t received any response.

The club’s website appears to be quite outdated, though I see that they hold monthly meetups. Since I work irregular hours, just showing up isn’t a feasible option for me—I would need to arrange shift changes well in advance.

Is anyone here a member who can provide insights on whether the club is still active?

Thanks for your help!

  1. Hi there!

It’s great to hear that you’re diving into astronomy and astrophotography! Sorry to hear about your struggles with contacting the local club. It can be quite frustrating when you’re eager to get involved and don’t receive a response.

If the website seems outdated, it might be worth checking social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter to see if they have a more active presence there. Many clubs tend to communicate and post updates on social media more frequently than on their websites.

Additionally, you might want to consider joining online astronomy communities or forums where members can share information and resources. Websites like Cloudy Nights or astronomy-related subreddits can be helpful, and you might even find members from your area who can give you insights or alternative clubs to check out.

If you do manage to confirm if the club is still active, it could be helpful to reach out to them again, perhaps through a different contact method if available, or even inquire if there’s a way to participate virtually.

Good luck, and I hope you find a community that supports your passion for astronomy! 🌌✨
