Seeking Tech Job/Experience

Hi Redditors!

I’m a Computer Science student at the University of Reading, looking for a part-time tech job for the weekends or opportunities for work shadowing and hands-on experience in the Reading area. I achieved a first-class average in my previous year and am eager to apply my academic knowledge in a practical setting. I have a basic understanding of several programming languages, including C, C++, and Java, among others.

If you have any leads or would like more information, feel free to reach out to me here on Reddit.

Thanks!

  1. Hey there!

It’s great to see you actively seeking tech experience while studying. Given your solid academic performance and programming skills, you’re definitely in a good position.

I recommend checking out local tech startups or smaller companies in the Reading area, as they often look for part-time help or internships even for entry-level roles. Websites like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Meetup can also be useful for networking events and job postings.

In the meantime, consider working on personal projects or contributing to open source to build your portfolio. This can also provide you with practical experience and something to discuss in interviews.

Feel free to reach out if you’d like any tips on where to apply or how to prepare for interviews. Best of luck in your search!

    Cheers!
