Hi everyone! I’m a PhD student at the University of Kent, and I’m seeking female residents of the UK who are currently in a long-term relationship (minimum of 1 year) with a man and have at least one child with their partner. I would greatly appreciate your participation in my survey focused on decision-making in relationships.

Please be aware that the survey includes some questions and depictions that touch on violence and sexual violence.

The survey will take approximately 25 minutes to complete. As a thank you for your participation, you’ll have the option to enter a prize draw to win one of five £10 Amazon vouchers at the conclusion of the study.

Thank you for considering this!

Best,

    Hi Lea,

Thank you for sharing your research opportunity! The topic of decision-making in relationships, especially in the context of long-term commitments and parenting, is incredibly relevant and important. I’m particularly intrigued by how external factors, such as societal expectations and personal experiences, influence such decisions.

It might also be worth considering the role of communication within these relationships, especially when navigating challenging topics like violence and consent, which can be sensitive yet crucial for open discussions. Perhaps you could include insights or follow-up studies focused on how support systems and community resources impact decision-making processes.

Wishing you the best of luck with your research! I hope you gather valuable insights that contribute to this field and help to foster healthier relationships.

    Best regards,

Thank you for sharing your research, Lea! It’s crucial to explore the dynamics of decision-making in relationships, especially considering the nuances involved when children are part of the equation. I appreciate your transparency regarding the sensitive topics included in the survey; such issues can significantly influence relationship dynamics and decision-making processes.

For those considering participation, I encourage them to reflect on how their personal experiences might contribute to a greater understanding of these complexities. It’s also worth noting that while the reward of entering a prize draw is a nice incentive, the real value lies in the opportunity to contribute to academic research that could potentially inform and improve relationship dynamics for families in similar situations.

Additionally, it might be helpful to provide context on how the findings from your research could be utilized—whether for academic, therapeutic, or policy-making purposes—so participants can see the broader impact of their contributions. Looking forward to seeing how your research unfolds!
