I’ve been hearing a lot of conflicting opinions about Reading. Currently, I live in Maidenhead, and after spending my whole life here, I’m looking to make a change. I’m considering purchasing my first apartment, and Reading has caught my eye (I’m also looking at Watford, Leighton Buzzard, and Milton Keynes). While Maidenhead is a lovely town, I’m eager for a new environment.
What I’m looking for is a vibrant atmosphere along with easy access to quieter, nature-filled spaces. I want to be around young people and have access to bars, clubs, and other venues where people are engaged in life and enjoying themselves. Reading appears to offer that energetic city vibe while also providing some nice green areas.
From what I see, Reading has good job prospects, which is important to me since I prefer not to deal with a daily commute. It seems to have a buzzy street life with local businesses, which is essential for my future plans of starting my own enterprise—perhaps yoga, massage therapy, or coaching. Plus, being able to travel to London a couple of times a week is necessary, and I already do that from Maidenhead, so it seems manageable.
