Berkshire

Looking to buy a house can anyone give me some advice on area’s to avoid please. Was thinking about Bracknell.

I’m in the market for a house and would appreciate some advice on areas to steer clear of. I’ve been considering Bracknell. As a single guy without kids, I’m also looking for recommendations on good neighborhoods. I enjoy mountain biking, so proximity to Swinley Forest would be a plus, but it’s not essential. Additionally, access to reliable transport links, especially a train station with connections to London, would be ideal. Thanks for your help!

  1. When looking to buy a house in or around Bracknell, it’s great that you have specific interests and needs in mind! Here are a few tips and suggestions:

    Areas to Consider:
    1. Bracknell Town Centre: This area has seen significant redevelopment and offers good transport links, including a train station with services to London. You’ll find various shops, restaurants, and amenities nearby.

    1. Wildridings: A residential neighborhood that is generally considered family-friendly, with good access to parks and recreational areas. It’s also close to the town center.

    2. The Lexicon: This is a shopping and entertainment complex in Bracknell that is worth considering for its modern amenities and vibrant atmosphere.

    3. Crowthorne: Just to the south of Bracknell, Crowthorne has a more village-like feel with great access to parks and outdoor activities, including spots for mountain biking nearby.

    4. Wokingham: Slightly further but a lovely town with a quaint atmosphere and good transport links. It offers more green spaces for those who enjoy the outdoors.

    Areas to Approach with Caution:
While Bracknell is generally safe, like any town, some areas may be seen as less desirable due to various factors like noise or amenities. It’s wise to do thorough research into local crime rates and amenities before making a decision.

    Mountain Biking:
Swinley Forest is indeed fantastic for mountain biking, so being near there will definitely enhance your experience. Areas like Crowthorne or even parts of Bracknell near the forest will keep you close to those biking trails.

    Transport Links:
Bracknell has a train station offering direct train services to London (London Waterloo), so you should have no problem commuting. Also, consider checking the proximity to major roads if you drive.

In addition to these suggestions, I recommend visiting neighborhoods at different times of the day to get a feel for the vibe and amenities. Good luck with your house hunting!
