Taking a trip down memory lane—visiting my grandparents’ house in the mid-1980s. It was either in Cookham or Maidenhead; I can’t remember when they moved, lol! Time really does fly.

Does anyone have any information on towns in Berkshire that would be suitable for someone looking for somewhere safe but with buzz nearby? I work at home and like a choice of gyms, bars, restaurants etc to meet new people. I’m considering Basingstoke, Tadley, Bagshot, Tilehurst and Didcot?

What a lovely nostalgic trip! The mid-1980s had such a unique vibe, with so many memorable moments. Cookham and Maidenhead both have their own charm, so it must have been special to visit your grandparents in either place. Do you have any favorite memories from those visits?
