Creepy Doorbell Encounters in Reading West?

My partner and I live in Reading West, and we’ve had a couple of unsettling experiences with unexpected visitors at our door.
The most recent incident occurred this morning around 4:45 AM. A car pulled up right outside our place, and someone got out to ring our doorbell twice. My partner rushed to answer it, but I stopped him—who rings a doorbell at that hour? I had an uneasy feeling about the whole situation. The person said something to the driver, and after that, they both drove off.
Before this, we had another strange encounter a few Sundays ago at around 6 AM. My partner answered the door to find a man named David, someone we had never seen before. He seemed unclear about what he wanted and left shortly after.
I’m curious if anyone else in the area has experienced something similar. Having two incidents like this has left me feeling uneasy and exposed. I can’t help but wonder why anyone would come to our house at such odd hours. While we live off Oxford Road, which has its share of issues, I’ve never encountered anything like this in any other home, and it seems unusual here too. I spoke with a few neighbors, and they found it strange as well.
We’re considering getting a Ring doorbell, as these experiences have definitely made us feel more on edge!
Update: We just had a former tenant stop by asking for her mail and inquiring about when we’re usually home. We’ve never met her before. This either feels like a bizarre coincidence or something more odd is happening. The Ring doorbell is set to arrive on Wednesday!
