Level 2/3 Survey Request

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for suggestions for local, affordable property surveyors in the Reading area for a house I’ve just had an offer accepted on.

Additionally, could anyone clarify whether a Level 3 survey provides significantly more detail than a Level 2, or is the Level 2 survey generally thorough enough?

Thanks in advance! 🙂

  1. Hi there!

Congratulations on having your offer accepted! For local affordable property surveyors in the Reading area, you might want to check out companies like [Surveyor A] or [Surveyor B]. They often have good reviews and can provide competitive pricing. It’s also worth asking friends or family for referrals if they’ve had similar surveys done.

As for the Level 2 vs. Level 3 survey, a Level 3 survey (also known as a Building Survey) is indeed much more detailed and comprehensive. It’s a great choice if the property is older, has potential issues, or if you’re planning major renovations. A Level 2 survey (Homebuyer Report) is sufficient for most properties, especially if they are relatively modern and in good condition. It will highlight any structural problems and recommend further investigations if necessary.

Ultimately, it depends on your comfort level with the property and any potential concerns you may have. If you’re unsure, it might be worth opting for the Level 3 for peace of mind.

Good luck, and let us know if you have any other questions!
