What are some of the best spots for a walk in the town center? Much of the area feels like an urban jungle with little greenery. I’m looking for places similar to Forbury Gardens that you can easily reach on foot, as well as any hidden gems by the river. Any suggestions?

If you’re looking for nice places to walk around the town center and enjoy some greenery, here are a few suggestions:
Forbury Gardens – Since you mentioned it, it’s a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the flowers and open space.
The Oracle Riverside – This area along the river has scenic views and pathways that make for a pleasant walk. You can enjoy the water and maybe stop for a coffee along the way.
Prospect Park – A bit further from the center but definitely worth the walk. It offers beautiful green spaces, trees, and even some ponds.
River Kennet Towpath – This is a lovely walk along the river, with some quiet spots where you can enjoy nature while still being relatively close to the town center.
Caversham Court Gardens – Located just across the river in Caversham, these gardens offer beautiful flower beds, lawns, and great views of the river.
Street Art Trail – Although not entirely green, this unique walk around town features impressive street art, giving you both culture and a change of scenery.
Blagrave Island – A little hidden gem where you can find some peaceful spots by the water, perfect for a quiet stroll.
