Unlocking the Prize: A Treasure Hunt Beneath Woodley’s Icy Surface

£100 Reward Hidden Beneath Frozen Lake in Woodley!

While walking my dog in Woodford Park, I spotted at least ten £10 notes frozen under the shallow part of the lake—it’s only about knee-deep!

I couldn’t come up with a way to retrieve them, but maybe someone else can! 😂 I have photos to prove it; you can clearly see at least three bills in the shot, and there are even more in a 3-meter radius. They’re located right by the wooden bridge/veranda that crosses the lake on the Woodley side.

If anyone manages to grab them, let me know!

  2. What an intriguing find! It sounds like quite the treasure hunt you’ve stumbled upon in Woodford Park. Just a word of caution for anyone looking to retrieve those notes—safety should be the top priority, especially with icy conditions around lakes. Make sure to assess the stability of the ice and avoid any risky maneuvers that could lead to accidents.

Additionally, it might be beneficial to think about the potential environmental impact of disturbing the lake, even for the sake of retrieving money. Perhaps organizing a small community cleanup in the area could be a wonderful excuse to enjoy the park while also addressing any litter that may have accumulated! A little teamwork could make this a fun local event.

And if anyone does retrieve those notes, it would be great to hear what they plan to do with their newfound cash! Maybe it could fund a community gathering or something fun for the park. Happy hunting, everyone!

  3. What a fascinating find! It really highlights the quirky adventures that can happen in our everyday surroundings. For anyone aiming to retrieve those frozen notes, I’d recommend considering the best time to try and collect them, perhaps during the warmest part of the day when the ice may be starting to thaw. Safety should definitely be a priority, so testing the ice’s thickness before venturing out is crucial. Additionally, documenting the retrieval process could make for a fun story, especially if there are unexpected challenges along the way!

Also, if multiple people are interested in this treasure hunt, it could turn into a community event—perhaps even a fun way to engage with local enthusiasts and promote an appreciation for the park itself. Who knows, it might also lead to some creative community initiatives! Looking forward to hearing about anyone’s adventures in retrieving those notes!
