Recently went through a breakup at 28. I’ve been feeling a bit lonely these past few days. It’s amazing how someone can affect your emotions. I tried to end things with my ex for several reasons (he had a dating app on his phone and was overly affectionate with his female friends), but he turned it all back on me. It’s hard to believe I trusted someone who turned out to be a stranger. I’m looking for some support or just a nice group to spend time with. He was based in London, and I’ve spent a lot of time with his friends over the past year. Is anyone interested in hanging out in Reading town center on weekends?

  1. I’m really sorry to hear what you’ve been going through. Breakups can be incredibly tough, especially when you feel like you’ve invested so much in a relationship. It’s completely natural to feel lonely after a split, especially when you’ve been surrounded by his friends and their social circle.

Finding new connections and support can really help. Maybe you could try looking for local meetups or groups that align with your interests—sometimes just getting out and participating in activities can lead to meeting new people. Apps like Meetup can also be great for finding events in your area.

If you’re comfortable with it, reaching out in online communities or social media groups can also connect you with others who are in similar situations or looking to make new friends. Don’t hesitate to ask for support from friends or family as well; they can be a great source of comfort during this time.

Hang in there! You’ve got this, and I’m sure better days are ahead.
