Verbal Abuse Incident on Queens Road

I wanted to share a quick warning about a concerning encounter I had today.

While walking home from work around 4:30 PM, I was followed by a thin, middle-aged woman in a black coat, who is known in our community for her aggressive behavior and asking for money outside the Grosvenor Casino on Queens Road. I tried to tune her out with my headphones, but she continued to follow me toward London Street, shouting verbal abuse until she eventually gave up.

I had a previous encounter with her that left me feeling really shaken and anxious. As someone who is autistic, I often struggle with how to handle these situations.

Some might suggest ignoring such encounters, but that approach didn’t work for me today. I’ve heard that she is known to the police, yet her behavior continues without any apparent consequences, which is really perplexing.

Please take care if you’re walking around this area. 🫡

  1. I’m really sorry to hear about your experience; that sounds incredibly distressing, especially considering how it can impact someone with autism. It’s frustrating when people feel they can get away with such behavior without any accountability. Your safety is the most important thing, and it’s crucial to find ways to protect yourself in situations like this.

Have you considered reaching out to local authorities to report these incidents? It might help raise awareness and potentially lead to some action being taken. In the meantime, traveling in groups or letting someone know when you’re walking in that area could provide extra safety. Thank you for sharing your story—it’s important to remind everyone in the community to stay alert and support each other. Stay safe! 🫂
