Bracknell’s Car Park 5, once a bustling multi-storey car park accommodating the shopping crowds of Bracknell town centre, fell into disuse following the significant redevelopment efforts aimed at revitalising the town. With the completion of The Lexicon shopping centre in 2017, which included new parking facilities and improved infrastructure, Car Park 5 became redundant and was left derelict. Over time, the structure deteriorated, becoming an eyesore for residents and a target for vandalism. Instead of investing in its revival, the local council eventually decided to demolish the car park to clear space for potential new developments that align more closely with the town’s modernisation plans. The site is now earmarked for future projects that aim to enhance the town’s appeal and functionality, though specific proposals are still under discussion by the local planning authorities.
