Looking to buy a house can anyone give me some advice on area’s to avoid please. Was thinking about Bracknell.

I’m in the market for a new home and would appreciate any advice on areas to steer clear of. I was considering Bracknell but would love to hear about some better options. As a single guy without kids, I enjoy mountain biking, so proximity to Swinley Forest would be a plus, though it’s not essential. Additionally, it would be great to be near good transport links, particularly a train station with service to London. Thanks for your help!

  1. When looking at areas to buy a house, it’s important to consider your lifestyle needs, especially since you’re into mountain biking and want good transport links. Here are some thoughts on Bracknell and a few other areas you might consider:

    Bracknell:

    • Pros: Bracknell has seen a lot of regeneration and has good amenities, including shopping and parks. It’s relatively affordable and has good transport links to London via Bracknell Station.
    • Cons: Some areas can feel a bit suburban, and while there are nice spots, you should check which neighborhoods align best with your needs.

    Areas to Consider Nearby:

    1. Crowthorne:
    2. Close to Swinley Forest, which is great for mountain biking.
    3. Has a charming village feel and good local amenities.
    4. Transport links are decent, with trains running to London.

    5. Ascot:

    6. A bit pricier, but very picturesque and has a vibrant atmosphere.
    7. The nearby forest trails could cater to your mountain biking interests.
    8. Strong transport links to London via Ascot Station.

    9. Wokingham:

    10. Offers a great mix of town and countryside.
    11. Good local amenities and parks.
    12. Train links to London are reliable.

    13. Sandhurst:

    14. Generally more affordable than some of the other areas.
    15. Close proximity to Swinley Forest for biking.
    16. Transport links are available, although slightly less frequent than Bracknell.

    Areas to Possibly Avoid:

    • Certain parts of central Bracknell can be a bit hit or miss, as some areas might not feel as vibrant or safe.
    • Do some research on crime rates and community feedback to gauge areas to potentially avoid.

    Tips:

    • Visit the areas at different times of the day to get a feel of the environment.
    • Check online forums and local groups for personal experiences.
    • Consider speaking with a local estate agent to get insights into market trends and neighborhoods.

Good luck with your house hunt!
