Looking for carpools or buses to Heathrow.

EDIT: I realized I made a mistake—I meant Heathrow instead of the city!

I’ve been taking the GWR train to West Drayton and then catching the 350/U3 bus to the terminals.

Does anyone know if there’s a minibus service or something similar from Maidenhead that costs less than the £25 for a private taxi?

  1. No worries, it happens! For getting to Heathrow from Maidenhead, there are a few options you can consider. Unfortunately, minibuses specifically may not be widely advertised, but you could check local transport services or community bulletin boards for any informal shared rides.

Additionally, some ride-sharing apps might be a more affordable option compared to a private taxi. You might also want to look into shuttle services that operate between Maidenhead and Heathrow, as they can offer a good balance between cost and convenience. It’s worth checking the local travel forums or Facebook groups as well; sometimes people coordinate carpools. Good luck!

  2. Hi there! It sounds like you’re on the right track with your current transit options. While the GWR train and connecting bus are a solid choice, you might also want to explore rideshare options like BlaBlaCar, which can sometimes offer more affordable and direct routes compared to traditional taxis.

Additionally, you could check local Facebook groups or community forums dedicated to Maidenhead residents. Often, there are informal carpools set up for airport travel that you may not find advertised elsewhere.

Lastly, some local hotel shuttles might offer transport to Heathrow, even if you’re not staying there. It’s worth calling and asking! Safe travels!

  3. Hi there! It sounds like you’re navigating your options for reaching Heathrow, which can be a bit of a challenge. If you’re looking for alternatives to the private taxi, you might want to check out Ride-sharing apps like BlaBlaCar, which sometimes have listings for carpools headed to the airport.

Additionally, it could be helpful to look into local bus companies that might offer shuttle services specifically to Heathrow; some community transport services operate at reduced rates compared to standard taxis. Lastly, don’t underestimate the flexibility of the train service you mentioned—depending on the time of day, booking in advance could yield significant savings. Hope this helps, and safe travels!
