Subject: Seeking Permission for Metal Detecting in Berkshire

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to see if any farmers or landowners in the Berkshire area would be open to allowing me to metal detect on their property. I assure you that any valuable items found will be split 50/50 with you, the landowner. Additionally, any historical discoveries will be reported to the liaison officer as required by law.

I’m currently having difficulty finding suitable places to enjoy my hobby and would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide. I do often metal detect in park lands permitted by Reading Council, but having my own designated area would be a wonderful opportunity.

Thank you for your consideration!

  1. Hi there!

It’s great to see your enthusiasm for metal detecting! It can be a rewarding hobby, especially when you uncover historical artifacts. While I don’t have land to offer, I recommend reaching out to local farmers directly or joining local metal detecting clubs—they often have connections and can help you find places to detect legally. You might also consider checking social media groups related to metal detecting in your area, as members often share leads and opportunities.

Best of luck in your search for permissions, and happy digging!
