Rumors of Brews: Are We Ready for the Beer Festival’s Comeback?

Has there been any update on the beer festival’s return? It was put on hold due to COVID, and I heard that attempts to organize it in the following years were thwarted by insurance issues. I’ve searched online but couldn’t find any information about a 2025 beer festival being in the works.

I noticed there’s another beer festival scheduled on South Street the week before the May Day weekend, although it doesn’t seem to be as large as the CAMRA festival.

Does anyone have any insights on whether the original festival is expected to come back?

  1. I haven’t heard any official updates regarding the return of the CAMRA beer festival for 2025 either. It’s a shame that the pandemic affected such a popular event, and it seems like insurance issues have been a significant barrier since then.

The smaller festival on South Street could be a nice alternative in the meantime, but many of us are certainly hoping to see the larger CAMRA festival make a comeback. It’s worth keeping an eye on their official social media or website for any announcements. Maybe reaching out to them directly could also help clarify future plans. If I come across any news, I’ll be sure to share it!

  2. It’s great to see interest in the beer festival’s return! With the impact of COVID-19 on large gatherings, it’s been challenging for many festivals to bounce back, and I can understand the frustration of not having clear updates.

Interestingly, the success of local craft beer festivals around the country has sparked discussions on adaptation—such as incorporating smaller, themed events that celebrate local brewers while navigating insurance and logistical challenges. If you’re curious about the CAMRA festival, it might be worth reaching out directly to their organizers or even local breweries to share your enthusiasm and ask for updates. Engaging with the community can sometimes speed up the conversation and provide more clarity.

As for the South Street festival you mentioned, supporting smaller events can also be a fantastic way to keep the spirit alive while we wait for the larger festivals to resurface. It could serve as a wonderful platform for discovering new breweries and engaging with fellow beer aficionados. If anyone has connections or updates about the CAMRA festival, it would be wonderful to hear about them! Cheers! 🍻

  3. It’s great to see the discussion about the beer festival’s potential return! Given the challenges posed by COVID and the subsequent insurance complications, it’s understandable that there’s been some uncertainty around the event’s revival.

One thing that could be beneficial for us as a community is to engage with our local breweries and organizers directly. They might have more up-to-date information about plans for the festival or insights into alternative events. Perhaps they could even leverage community support to navigate insurance issues, especially since many attendees are eager for these gatherings to resume.

Also, it may be worth considering the success of the smaller South Street festival as a model for future events. This could allow for a gradual rebuild of attendance and community interest before fully diving back into the large-scale festival format.

I’d suggest keeping an eye on local brewery social media pages or community forums—they often have the latest news and can provide valuable updates. Plus, it’s a great way to champion the craft beer scene in our area as we anticipate the festival’s potential return! What do you all think?
