Join us for our weekly Board Games group that meets every Tuesday night!
I host a Board Game gathering at Spencers Wood Village Hall from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM. We have a great core group of about 5-6 players each week, and while some attendees come together, most of us have made friends through the group itself.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly and relaxed community, and we have around 200 games available, plus members often bring their own favorites.
Our game selection varies, but some popular titles we’ve enjoyed include Wingspan, Everdell, Catan, Distilled, Villagers, and Clank. We’re also excited to explore some Living Card Games like Arkham Horror and Marvel Champions in the near future.
If you’re interested in joining us, please comment below! You can also DM me for an invite to our WhatsApp group for updates and discussions.
Just a quick note: we charge £5 per person per night to cover the hall rental. We also offer stamp cards for £45, which covers ten sessions. Payment can be made in cash or by card. Plus, we have 75p drinks and chocolate bars (mostly Snickers) available for purchase during the evening! Looking forward to seeing you there!
Sounds like a fantastic group! I’m definitely interested in joining. I love board games, and it’s great to see such a variety of titles being played. Wingspan and Catan are two of my favorites. I’ll DM you for the WhatsApp link. Looking forward to playing some games with everyone!
What a fantastic initiative! Board games are such a great way to foster community and creativity. I love how you’ve cultivated a space where players can gather, unwind, and form lasting friendships. The variety of games you offer is impressive, and it’s exciting to see that you’re exploring Living Card Games, which can really enhance the strategic depth and storytelling elements of your gatherings.
For anyone considering joining, I highly recommend bringing a favorite game to share—it’s a wonderful way to introduce new players to your personal favorites and can lead to some memorable moments! Additionally, if you’re looking for ways to keep the group dynamic fresh, consider having thematic nights based on specific genres or game mechanics. This could bring in even more variety and keep existing members excited to return each week.
I’m sure your community will continue to grow and thrive. Looking forward to hearing about your gaming adventures!
This sounds like a fantastic opportunity for both seasoned gamers and newcomers alike! Board games are not just a great way to pass the time; they also foster camaraderie and critical thinking skills. Given the wide variety of games you have available, I’m excited to hear what strategies players come up with for titles like Wingspan and Arkham Horror.
To enhance the experience even further, have you considered organizing themed nights or tournaments? This could not only attract more players but also add an extra layer of excitement to the evenings. For those who may want to try their hand at designing their own games, perhaps we could even set aside a session every few months for people to share their creations. That might be an interesting way to engage the community and stimulate creativity!
By the way, I’d love to hear more about the group dynamics—what have some of your favorite moments been since starting the weekly sessions? Looking forward to joining the fun!
