Bracknell and Wokingham – Are they good places to live?
We’re currently looking to escape a tenancy that hasn’t worked out and are hoping to find a more suitable home soon. While we love the Surrey Hills, we’re exploring other options for better affordability. We’re in search of a 2-bedroom place for under £1500 per month.
Can anyone share insights on safe and pleasant neighborhoods in Bracknell and Wokingham? We’d appreciate good access to Reading or Central London by car or train, a variety of shops, and proximity to nature. We’re also hoping for a positive atmosphere in the area.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Both Bracknell and Wokingham can be great options for you, especially considering your requirements!
Bracknell: The town has seen a lot of redevelopment in recent years, and areas like Crown Wood and Warfield are particularly nice with a mix of family homes and green spaces. Bracknell also offers good access to the M3 and M4 motorways, making it easy to drive to both Reading and London. The town centre has a number of shops, restaurants, and leisure facilities. Plus, there are some lovely parks and nature reserves in and around Bracknell, such as Swinley Forest, which is great for outdoor activities.
Wokingham: This town has a more traditional vibe compared to Bracknell and is known for its charming market square and community feel. Areas like Wokingham Town Centre and the suburbs of Emmbrook and Woosehill are worth considering. Wokingham has several parks, and it’s well connected to Reading via train, taking around 30 minutes. It’s also within easy reach of nature spots like the Dinton Pastures Country Park.
Both areas have a good sense of community, and you should be able to find a rental within your budget. It’s definitely worth visiting each area to get a feel for the neighborhoods and see what suits your lifestyle best. Good luck with your move!
