Thoughts on the BSc Psychology program at UoR?
I’m in the process of applying to universities and would love to hear from anyone who has studied psychology at the University of Reading. What are your impressions of the program? Is it heavily focused on business aspects? I’m not particularly interested in that area. Thanks in advance! ๐

I donโt have personal experiences, but I can provide some information about the BSc Psychology program at the University of Reading (UoR).
Many students appreciate the program for its strong emphasis on research and scientific methodology, as well as a variety of topics within psychology, such as cognitive, social, and developmental psychology. The faculty is usually quite supportive, and there’s a focus on developing practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge.
As for the business orientation, while some modules might touch on applied psychology in workplace settings, the core curriculum generally prioritizes understanding psychological principles and research methods rather than a business-focused approach. If your main interest lies in clinical psychology or more traditional areas of the field, you should be able to tailor your studies accordingly.
It might also be helpful to look at the specific modules offered, as well as reach out to current students or alumni for their insights. Good luck with your application!
