Bus Capping System Help
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for some clarity on how the bus capping system works. I’m aware there have been some updates since the beginning of the year, but I’m noticing varying rates for each bus ride (see attached screenshot).
Could someone let me know what the current cap is for bus rides?
Additionally, I’m a bit confused about the single fare, which I believed to be £2.50. However, I’ve been charged different amounts for all three of my recent rides!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi there!
I understand your confusion; the capping system can be a bit tricky to navigate at first. Essentially, the capping system is designed to limit how much you spend on bus rides in a given time frame, usually a daily cap. This means that once your total fares for the day hit a certain limit, any additional rides that day are free.
As for the rates, yes, there are different prices for bus rides, depending on factors like the time of day or specific zones. The single fare you’re referring to might be £2.50, but a few variables can affect the total fare, like the bus route, or if there are any promotional offers.
To see the current cap for the buses in your area, you’ll want to check the official website or app of the transport authority, as they typically provide up-to-date information regarding fare rates and caps.
If you notice significant discrepancies in what you’re being charged for different rides, it might be worth reaching out to customer service for clarification or checking if there are any fare changes that haven’t been communicated widely.
Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
