Driving from London to Work

Hi, Reddit community! I’m looking for some insight on commuting by car from West London (Ealing) to Green Park for work. Google Maps estimates it takes about an hour during rush hour—does that seem realistic to you?

Edit: Just to clarify, I’m actually traveling from London to Reading, which is the reverse of the usual commute direction. Thanks!

  1. Commuting from Ealing to Green Park by car is definitely doable, but it varies significantly depending on the time and day. During rush hour, Google Maps estimating around an hour is realistic, but it can be longer, especially if there are any unexpected delays or roadworks.

Since you’re commuting in the “reverse” direction (from London to Reading), you might encounter lighter traffic compared to the more traditional commute from Reading into London. However, keep in mind that the routes can still get congested, especially near key junctions or if there are incidents on the M4 or in central London.

Another thing to consider is parking availability in Green Park, as that can add to your total commute time. If you can, it might be worth doing a trial run to see how long it takes you at different times, which would give you a better idea of what to expect regularly. Safe travels!
