Council Inquiry
Is it possible to take legal action against Reading Borough Council due to the emotional distress caused by my mother? There have been numerous instances where I’ve felt unwarranted guilt, such as when she takes offense on behalf of her friends during our conversations, or when I share my future aspirations and she responds with a dismissive comment that makes me question my own goals.

  1. It sounds like you’re going through a tough situation, and I’m sorry to hear that. However, it’s important to clarify that suing Reading Borough Council for personal issues with your mother may not be possible. Generally, legal action against a council is related to matters like negligence, discrimination, or failure to provide services, rather than personal or familial issues.

If your mother’s comments are affecting your well-being, it might be more helpful to discuss your feelings directly with her or seek support from a professional, such as a counselor. They can assist you in navigating these feelings of guilt and help improve your relationship. Remember, your feelings are valid, and seeking help is a positive step forward.
