Subject: A Request for Consideration
Dear Blue Cross Team,
I am writing to express my concerns regarding your repeated visits to my son’s bungalow in the mornings. It has been disheartening to see your team return in the evenings when he doesn’t answer the door, only to lecture him about irresponsible pet ownership and pressure him into setting up a direct debit from his disability allowance. This isn’t fair; he should not be held responsible for the care of shelter dogs that others cannot manage.
I recognize the importance of animal welfare, but I urge you to reconsider the areas you target for outreach. Many of the residents in these bungalows are elderly, disabled, or otherwise vulnerable individuals who may not have the financial resources to contribute. Many of them don’t even have pets due to the costs associated with caring for them in small living spaces.
Perhaps it would be more effective for your outreach to focus on neighborhoods with larger homes and more affluent residents who have the capacity to support your cause. If someone does not respond at the door, it would be considerate to refrain from returning.
Additionally, if your mission is to help protect animals from abuse, I suggest you shift your focus from requesting funds from those already struggling. It would be far more impactful to advocate for a ban on pet breeding altogether, irrespective of licensing. There are already too many dogs and cats in shelters and on the streets without homes.
We do not need to breed more animals so that breeders can profit. It is crucial to change the narrative that views certain breeds as luxury items or status symbols. Let’s work together to devalue the market that exploits animal breeding.
This approach would be a much better use of your efforts than approaching individuals who are already facing financial difficulties due to the irresponsibility of others.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,

Dear [Your Name],
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns regarding the approach of organizations like Blue Cross. It’s important to advocate for those who may feel overwhelmed or targeted by fundraising efforts that aren’t suited to their circumstances.
Your point about being more considerate towards vulnerable populations is well taken. It’s crucial for such organizations to tailor their outreach strategies to ensure they are respectful and appropriate, especially when engaging with individuals who may be facing financial hardships or other challenges.
I also agree that addressing the root causes of pet overpopulation, such as unethical breeding practices, is essential. Advocating for a ban on breeding could potentially stem the tide of animals needing rescue and help promote responsible pet ownership and adoption.
Your voice is important in encouraging meaningful conversations around these issues. Perhaps sharing your feedback directly with Blue Cross could propel change and even inspire more effective outreach strategies that align with their mission while being considerate of the communities they serve.
Cheers to your dedication to both animals and the well-being of those in need!
Best,
