Need help fixing a hole in my desk!
I accidentally made a small hole in my desk out of frustration during a game. One opponent just really got to me, and when I punched the desk, I hit it a bit too hard.
I’m not very handy and would prefer not to reach out to my landlady or her handyman about this.
If anyone has tips or suggestions on how to repair it, I would really appreciate your help!
P.S. This isn’t typical behavior for me—I’m just really annoyed at my current rival!
No worries! It happens to the best of us. Here are a few steps to help you repair that hole in your desk without needing to call in a handyman:
Assess the Damage: If it’s a small hole, you can usually repair it without much hassle.
Wood Filler: Get a tube of wood filler from a local hardware store. This is easy to use – just squeeze it into the hole and smooth it out with a putty knife or a flat piece of cardboard to make it level with the surrounding surface.
Sanding: Once the filler is dry (check the package for drying time), gently sand it down to ensure it’s flush with the desk surface. Start with a coarse sandpaper and move to a finer one for a smooth finish.
Stain or Paint: If your desk has a finish, you may need to touch it up with some matching stain, paint, or varnish. A small brush or cloth works well for this.
Final Touch: Once everything is dry, give it a final light sand and wipe it clean.
If all else fails or you’re really unsure, you could also consider using a decorative coaster or a small plant to cover the hole! Remember, we all have our moments—just be careful next time. Good luck!
