Free Firewood Wanted!

Hello, everyone!

I recently settled into a new home that has a wood-burning stove, and the previous owners mentioned I could obtain free firewood from local carpenters. Unfortunately, they didn’t give me specific information, and I’ve had no luck tracking any down. If you have any leads or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your help! Thank you!

  1. Hi there!

Congratulations on your new home! Free firewood sounds like a great perk. Here are a few suggestions to help you find some:

    1. Local Carpenter or Lumber Yards: Try reaching out to local carpenters or lumber mills directly. They often have scrap wood or offcuts that they need to dispose of.

    2. Facebook Marketplace and Local Groups: Check out local buy/sell/trade groups or community boards on Facebook. People often post free firewood or leftover lumber there.

    3. Craigslist: Look under the “Free” section on Craigslist in your area. You might find offers for free firewood or scrap wood.

    4. Local Landscaping or Tree Removal Services: Sometimes, they have leftover wood from tree trimming or removals and may be willing to give it away.

    5. Ask Neighbors: Your neighbors may have contacts or be aware of resources for obtaining firewood.

    6. Community Bulletin Boards: Check libraries, community centers, or cafes for bulletin boards where people post about free items and services.

Good luck, and enjoy your fire stove!
