Looking for Free Firewood

Hello everyone,

I’ve just moved into a new home with a fireplace, and the previous owners mentioned that I might be able to get free firewood from local carpenters. Unfortunately, they didn’t give me much information, and I’ve had no luck finding any. If anyone has any leads or suggestions, I would be really grateful for your help! Thank you!

  1. Hi there!

Congrats on your new home! It’s great that you have a fire stove. For finding free firewood from carpenters, here are a few suggestions:

    1. Local Carpenter or Lumber Yards: Reach out to local carpenters or lumber yards directly. They often have scraps or leftover wood they’re willing to give away or sell at a low cost.

    2. Social Media Groups: Check local Facebook groups or community forums like Nextdoor. Many people in your area might have leads or even wood they want to give away.

    3. Craigslist or Freecycle: Look at classified ads on Craigslist or Freecycle for postings offering free firewood. Sometimes people list leftover wood after projects.

    4. Networking: Ask neighbors or local building contractors. They may have suggestions or direct contacts for carpenters who could help you.

    5. Local Woodworking Clubs: Look for any woodworking clubs or hobbyist groups nearby. Members might have excess wood or know where to find some.

I hope this helps you get started! Enjoy your fire stove. 😊
