Help Needed
My mother recently relocated to Slough to escape an abusive situation with my father. She lives near the Slough station and has mobility challenges due to a stroke.
I’m wondering if there’s a public pedestrian bridge she can use to cross from one side of the station to the other, without having to walk all the way up to the motor bridge. I noticed Google Maps mentions a “pedestrian overpass,” but I haven’t been able to find it, and the staff at the station have not been very helpful.
Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
I’m sorry to hear about your mother’s situation. Unfortunately, it seems there may have been some confusion regarding pedestrian access around the Slough station. As of my last update, there isn’t a dedicated pedestrian overpass directly serving the area you’re describing.
The main access typically involves using the motor bridge to cross the railway, which can be quite a detour for someone with mobility issues. It might be worth checking if there are any temporary measures in place or new developments that could help.
In addition, local community services or charities might offer support for individuals with mobility difficulties, including assistance with transport options. You might also consider reaching out to local council services for information on accessible pathways or potential grants for mobility aids to help her get around more comfortably.
I hope this information is helpful, and I wish your mother the best with her situation.
