HMO Next Door Update

I just found out that the terraced house next door is being converted into a six-bedroom HMO. There was no notification or even a simple conversation about it—just full-on demolition, and I’ve noticed some damage to my roof as a result.

Is this standard practice? I’m really concerned about having an HMO on our street, especially considering how overwhelmed it already is with traffic.

Is there anything that can be done to contest this?

I understand the need for housing, but this situation feels like nothing more than a money grab. It seems like the investors are indifferent to both the neighborhood and the well-being of their tenants.
