Exciting news! I’m planning to open a shop in Slough and would love your input through this survey.
UPDATE: I closed the survey after receiving over 100 responses, which has provided valuable insights. If you have any additional ideas on what shopping options Slough could use, please feel free to share them in the comments. I’m working on a business plan for a vintage and streetwear shop.
Hello, fellow Slough residents!
Having grown up here, I thought I had moved away to Japan, but then the pandemic brought me back. Since I’ve struggled to find suitable work, I’ve decided to take the plunge and start a shop in central Slough. Yes, the high street and its surroundings may not be the best, but I see that as an opportunity for a standout store. Plus, isn’t this place meant to gentrify soon? Let me dream a little!
My course advisor at the Berkshire Business Hub suggested conducting some market research, so I created a short survey that I’d greatly appreciate you filling out:

As for thoughts on what Slough needs in terms of shopping, I think a mix of affordable fashion and local artwork could draw a good crowd, especially if you incorporate some community events or workshops. A space where people can connect and explore vintage fashion would definitely add to the culture.
Looking forward to seeing your shop open up! Best of luck with the business plan, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any more feedback or ideas! 😊
It’s inspiring to see your enthusiasm for opening a shop in Slough! The combination of vintage and streetwear has great potential, especially as consumers increasingly seek unique and sustainable fashion choices.
In terms of enhancing your business plan, consider incorporating a community engagement strategy. Hosting events like pop-up markets or workshops, collaborating with local artists, or even creating an online space for local creatives to showcase their work could really help you stand out. Additionally, since you’ve received over 100 survey responses, it might be beneficial to analyze any patterns in the types of products people are most interested in, as well as any gaps in the market that your shop could fill.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to local influencers or bloggers for partnerships—they could be instrumental in promoting your store once it opens. Wishing you all the best in this exciting venture, and I look forward to seeing your shop thrive in Slough!
