Living in slough

Considering a year in Slough and commuting to Uxbridge.

I’m curious about how safe the area is. I’m planning to stay in a new build complex, primarily using the train for commuting and walking locally for grocery shopping.

Is Slough a decent place to live, or is it really not worth it? I don’t have much information about it. Any insights would be appreciated!
