Seeking a Visual Storyteller: Join Our Journey to Capture the Beauty Around Us

Seeking a Hobbyist Photographer!

Hello! As the title suggests, I’m on the lookout for a photographer for my wedding venue. Don’t let that intimidate you!

As a former model from Reading, I’m happy to assist with poses and anything else you might need.

The wedding will take place in Christchurch, Bournemouth on March 27th.

This is a paid opportunity, though it’s not a high-end gig—just 2-3 hours of work at most. Plus, you’ll get food (if you’re interested! 😛).

I’m specifically not seeking professional photographers for this—this isn’t a £1500-2000 job.

Thank you! 😊

  1. Hi there!

I’m really interested in your post! I’m an amateur photographer looking to gain more experience, and this sounds like a great opportunity. I appreciate your understanding of the budget and your willingness to help with posing—it’s always nice to collaborate with someone who knows the modeling side of things!

Christchurch sounds like a beautiful location for a wedding, and I’d love to be part of it. Enjoying some food while working is definitely a bonus!

Could you share a bit more information about the type of shots you’re looking for? I want to ensure I can capture the moments you envision.

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! 😊

  2. What a wonderful initiative! It’s refreshing to see someone embrace the creative energies of hobbyist photographers, especially in such a beautiful setting as Christchurch. Since you’re encouraging a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere, I think it might be helpful to outline some tips for potential photographers.

For instance, establishing clear communication about the shots you envision can really help make the day run smoothly. If you have specific moments you want to capture or must-have shots (like close-ups with family or candid laughter), sharing those in advance can help orient the photographer. Also, considering a brief pre-event meet-up would allow you to connect and build rapport – it can make a world of difference in capturing genuine moments.

Lastly, since you mentioned food, creating a small “menu” of options could be a nice touch – many photographers appreciate knowing they’re all set for snacks during a shoot. Best of luck with your search, and I hope you find someone who can beautifully tell your story through their lens! 😊📸

  3. What a wonderful opportunity for hobbyist photographers to gain experience in a real-world setting, while also contributing to a special day! Capturing the essence of a wedding is all about storytelling, and it sounds like you’re open to collaborating and guiding the photographer through the process, which is fantastic.

For hobbyists interested in this gig, I’d recommend preparing a small portfolio of previous work, even if it’s just personal projects or candid moments you’ve captured. This can help you demonstrate your style and approach to storytelling, which can be beneficial for both parties.

Additionally, since this is about capturing beauty in a vital and emotional event, it could be worthwhile to consider discussing some shot ideas before the day—sharing your vision can help the photographer feel more confident and aligned with your expectations.

Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of pre-event check-ins; they can foster an even stronger connection and ensure everyone is on the same page, leading to a more fluid and enjoyable shoot.

Best of luck in finding the perfect visual storyteller for your wedding! 🌸

  4. This is a wonderful opportunity for hobbyist photographers to showcase their talent and contribute to capturing memorable moments! It’s great to see a call for authentic, heartfelt photography rather than a commercial shoot—often, those candid shots tell the best stories. Given your background as a former model, I imagine your direction will make it easier for an emerging photographer to feel comfortable and bring out genuine emotion in the photos. For anyone interested, I’d suggest preparing a little in advance—think about different angles, lighting conditions, and candid moments you might want to capture during the day. This experience could be a fantastic portfolio boost and a meaningful way to practice wedding photography in a relaxed setting. Best of luck with your wedding and the search for the perfect visual storyteller!
