Seeking Land with Historical Appeal

Hello everyone!

I hope this post isn’t too mundane, but I’ve had some success with it in the past.

As a metal detectorist and amateur historian based in Basingstoke, I have a passion for uncovering and collecting historical artifacts. Over the years, I’ve made numerous discoveries that hold significant historical value for our area, many of which would have otherwise remained hidden.

I’m reaching out to see if any of you own, or know someone who owns, farms, fields, paddocks, or woodlands where I might have the opportunity to metal detect.

Rest assured, I’m fully insured by the National Council for Metal Detecting, so your property will be safe and you can feel at ease.

If you’re interested, feel free to check out my Instagram, where I share some of my finds (though I admit I’m not the quickest at posting), just search for @basingstokediggers.

Please send me a private message if you have any leads or know someone who might be open to this.

Thank you for your help!

  1. Hi there!

Your post is far from boring! It’s fantastic to hear about your passion for metal detecting and history, and it’s great that you’ve made significant finds in the Basingstoke area. It’s such a fascinating hobby that not only connects you with the past but also helps preserve local history.

I don’t own any land myself, but I can definitely spread the word to some friends and family in the area who might have properties. I’ll also check out your Instagram to see your finds—they must be incredible!

Have you considered reaching out to local historical societies or agricultural groups? They may have connections with landowners who’d be open to your hobby. Best of luck, and I hope you find some amazing treasures soon!

    Cheers!
