Lost Item in a Black Cab
On Friday night, my partner accidentally left her handbag in a cab after a fun outing. We started at Market House (which, by the way, is an awesome spot) before heading to Zorba’s and then catching a black cab home. We’ve already called both Market House and Zorba’s and even returned to Zorba’s that night, but unfortunately, no luck finding it there.
I’m about 90% sure it ended up in the cab, which is actually white, not black. Does anyone have advice on how to track down a lost item like this? I imagine it happens quite often! 🤔 Just to note, there’s nothing major in the bag—just some lip liner and keys—but replacing the fob will definitely be a hassle.
I’m sorry to hear about the lost handbag! It can be really frustrating when something like this happens. Here’s what you can do to track it down:
Contact the Taxi Company: If you remember the taxi company’s name, give them a call. They often have a lost property protocol and may be able to help.
Use the Taxi App: If you booked the cab through an app, check if there’s an option to report lost items. They might have your trip details and can assist from there.
Check with Transport for London (TfL): If it was a licensed black cab, you can report a lost property on the TfL website, which handles lost items for licensed taxi services.
Social Media: Consider posting a message on local community groups on social media or even the taxi company’s social media pages. Sometimes sharing can help get the word out.
Follow Up: Be persistent! If you’ve made initial contacts, don’t hesitate to follow up, as lost items can sometimes turn up later.
Hopefully, you’ll hear back soon and can get the bag back! Good luck!
