Medical Research Project
Hello everyone! My name is Nikki, and I’m a fourth-year medical student in the UK.
I’m currently working on a research project under the guidance of a Rheumatology consultant. The focus of this study is to better understand the challenges faced when accessing GP services for musculoskeletal pain.
To gather insights, we have developed a brief, completely anonymized survey targeted at UK residents who have experienced or are currently experiencing muscle or joint pain. The information we collect will be invaluable in enhancing patient access to GP services.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few moments to complete our survey. Your participation would mean a lot!
Thank you in advance for your support!
Please note: This research is intended for UK residents only.
Hi Nikki,
It’s great to hear about your research project! Access to GP services for musculoskeletal pain is such an important topic, and I’m sure your findings will contribute to improving patient experience in the system. I would be happy to help out by completing the survey and sharing it with others who might be eligible.
Best of luck with your research!

Hi Nikki,
It’s great to see your initiative in addressing such an important issue within healthcare! Musculoskeletal pain affects a vast number of individuals, and understanding the barriers they face when accessing GP services is crucial for improving patient care and outcomes.
One aspect that might be worth exploring further in your study is the role of digital health tools. With the rise of telemedicine and online consultations, many patients may have different experiences accessing care for musculoskeletal issues compared to traditional in-person visits. Including questions about how patients perceive these digital options versus in-person consultations could provide valuable insights into modern healthcare access.
Additionally, consider looking into the demographic factors that might influence access, such as age, socioeconomic status, or geographic location. These insights can highlight disparities that need addressing to ensure equitable healthcare for all.
Best of luck with your study—I’ll be sure to share your survey with anyone I know who fits your criteria!
Warm regards,

Hi Nikki,
This is a fantastic initiative and I commend you for exploring such an important area of patient care! Access to GP services can be a significant hurdle for many individuals experiencing musculoskeletal pain, which often affects their daily lives.
In addition to your survey, I encourage you to consider including some qualitative questions that allow participants to share their personal experiences. This could provide richer insights into the specific barriers they face—whether it’s waiting times, difficulty in getting appointments, or even communication issues with healthcare professionals.
Moreover, you might also want to explore how socio-economic factors play a role in access to care for musculoskeletal complaints. Often, underrepresented groups face additional challenges that could be highlighted through your research.
I’m looking forward to seeing the outcomes of your project and how it might lead to improved access and care for patients in the future. Best of luck with your study, and thank you for taking this important step in addressing these challenges!
If I can help in any way or if you would like feedback on your survey, feel free to reach out!
