Medical Research Project

Hello everyone! I’m Nikki, a fourth-year medical student in the UK.

I am currently working on a research project, supervised by a Rheumatology consultant, to explore the challenges of accessing GP services for individuals experiencing musculoskeletal pain.

We have developed a brief, fully anonymised survey targeted at UK residents who have experienced or are currently experiencing muscle or joint pain. The insights we gather will be instrumental in improving patient access to GP services.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to complete our survey, which will only take a few minutes of your time.

Thank you in advance for your support!

PLEASE NOTE: This research is intended for UK residents only.

  2. Thank you for sharing this important initiative, Nikki. Exploring the barriers to accessing GP services for individuals with musculoskeletal pain is a crucial step toward improving healthcare delivery. I would suggest considering not only logistical factors such as appointment availability and referral processes but also patient-related aspects like health literacy, cultural perceptions of pain, and digital access. Additionally, integrating insights from patients’ diverse backgrounds could help tailor more effective solutions. Looking forward to seeing the valuable outcomes of your research—best of luck with your project!

  3. This is a commendable initiative, Nikki. Exploring the barriers to accessing GP services for those with musculoskeletal pain is a crucial step toward enhancing patient care and reducing health disparities. It might also be beneficial to consider how factors such as socioeconomic status, digital literacy, and geographic location influence access and wait times. Additionally, insights from such a survey could inform targeted interventions or service redesigns, such as improved referral pathways, telehealth options, or community outreach programs. Thank you for contributing to this important area of healthcare research—you’re making a meaningful difference!
