[META] Seeking Moderators – Here’s Your Chance to Apply
This subreddit has been without a dedicated moderator for quite some time, so I’ve stepped in to help. Unfortunately, the mod queue has accumulated a significant amount of spam over the last five years, indicating that this community hasn’t had proper oversight recently.
To maintain a vibrant subreddit, it’s crucial to have an active moderator team that regularly monitors posts, removes spam and off-topic content, and responds to modmail promptly. Relying on one person isn’t feasible, as they may not be able to log in daily due to work or other commitments, such as vacations.
If you’re interested in assisting with moderation, I’d love to hear from you! However, there are a few important points to consider before volunteering:
- Desktop Access Required: Moderating effectively from the Reddit app or mobile web is nearly impossible. If you can’t consistently access Reddit via the desktop site, this role may not be suitable for you.
- Regular Checking Needed: The subreddit and modmail should ideally be reviewed every few days, if not daily. Please refrain from volunteering if you cannot commit to around 5 minutes of monitoring every couple of days.
I understand this may seem a bit stringent, but it’s important to clarify these requirements upfront. Moderating is not for everyone, and we want to ensure we have the right team in place. Thank you!
