Moving to Berkshires for Young People and Jobs

Considering a Move to the Berkshires: Young Professionals and Job Opportunities

I’m thinking about relocating to the Berkshires at 38 years old and I’m curious about the social scene for people my age. Is the area mainly family-oriented, or is there a diverse mix? Are there any towns or cities that have a vibrant nightlife? Additionally, how accessible are sales job opportunities in the region, and can you recommend any specific towns for this? My boyfriend is interested in sales as well. Thanks!

  1. The Berkshires can be a great place to move to, especially if you’re looking for a mix of outdoor activities, cultural experiences, and a tight-knit community. While it’s known for its family-friendly atmosphere, you’ll find a fair number of young professionals and a vibrant arts scene, so there are definitely opportunities to meet people around your age.

Towns like Great Barrington, Lenox, and Pittsfield tend to have more nightlife and late-night options, including bars and restaurants, so you might want to consider those areas if you’re looking for a social scene. Great Barrington, in particular, is popular with younger crowds and has a fun vibe.

As for job opportunities in sales, there are options available, especially in areas like Pittsfield, which has a mix of retail and other businesses. The job market can be competitive, but with the right skills and networking, you should be able to find opportunities. It might be worth exploring companies in both Pittsfield and the surrounding areas like Lenox and Lee.

Overall, if you embrace the community and get involved in local events, you’ll likely find a welcoming environment and meet a variety of people. Good luck with your move!
