My wife just landed a job in Slough, and her commute is currently a hefty four hours each day. That’s clearly too much! I work at London Bridge, and we’re contemplating relocating to Slough to make my commute more feasible. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the area—how bad is it really?
I took a stroll around the town center on a weekday, and it felt relatively fine, although somewhat quiet, with a decent selection of larger retail brands. With the ongoing and upcoming regeneration projects, along with the Crossrail improvements, I hope the area will continue to enhance.
Are there specific neighborhoods to avoid concerning crime or other issues? What’s the living experience like near the center? I’ve noticed that many blog posts are quite dated and typically discourage moving there. Has the situation improved in recent years?
