The Model House of Commons (MHoC) is a political role-play subreddit with nearly 3,000 members, and we’re currently in the midst of a general election!

The MHoC’s Liberal Democrats are a liberal, centrist party embracing a range of views from social liberals to economic liberals. Our mission is to create a just and open society that provides opportunities for everyone.

So far, we’ve successfully enacted a Digital Bill of Rights to tackle issues surrounding the Snooper’s Charter, and we’ve extended same-sex marriage to Northern Ireland. We’re also working on important legislation regarding secularization and updates to terrorism laws.

Among our significant achievements is the reform of welfare, having replaced the outdated system with a Basic Income. The Liberal Democrats stand firm in their commitment to progressive policies, and we plan to continue this in the next term.

In the upcoming term, we aim to pass our proposed relaxation of terrorism laws, detailed here, decentralize power to our Home Nations, and introduce federalization for the United Kingdom.

We need your support to make this happen! In the last election, we secured 18 out of 115 seats, a commendable achievement. However, this time, the political landscape is more fragmented, with radical elements emerging on both ends of the spectrum. The Liberal Democrats represent the pragmatic and sensible choice.

We would greatly value your vote, which will only take a moment. If you’re interested in becoming part of the Liberal Democrats, sign up here. Thank you for considering our party!
