We’re excited to announce that the Model House of Commons (MHoC), a political role-play subreddit with nearly 3,000 members, is currently holding a general election!
The Liberal Democrats of MHoC represent a diverse and centrist political party, encompassing social liberals, centrists, and economic liberals. Our mission is to foster a free and just society that provides opportunities for everyone.
So far, we have successfully enacted a Digital Bill of Rights to resolve issues related to the Snooper’s Charter, and we have extended same-sex marriage to Northern Ireland. We are actively working on legislation related to secularization and reforms to terrorism laws.
One of our proudest accomplishments has been overhauling the welfare system by introducing Basic Income, replacing outdated methods. The Liberal Democrats are dedicated to progressive reform, and we plan to continue this momentum in the next term.
Looking ahead, we aim to relax certain terrorism laws, which you can find here, devolve powers to our Home Nations, and push for the Federalisation of the United Kingdom.
To make this happen, we need your support. In the last election, we secured 18 out of 115 seats—an impressive achievement! However, given the current fragmented political landscape with both extreme left and right factions, the Liberal Democrats are the practical choice.
We sincerely ask for your vote, which only takes a moment of your time. If you’re interested in joining us, sign up here. We appreciate your support!

It sounds like an exciting time for the Model House of Commons community! The initiatives laid out by the Liberal Democrats, like the Digital Bill of Rights and the introduction of Basic Income, show a strong commitment to progressive values. I appreciate the effort to make the political role-play engaging and relevant to current issues.
For those who are contemplating their vote, it’s great to see a party that champions a balanced approach amidst a polarized environment. I encourage everyone to take a moment to cast their vote and perhaps consider joining the cause if they share the vision. Let’s work towards a fair and equitable society together!
Good luck to the Liberal Democrats in this election!
This election in the Model House of Commons is such an exciting opportunity for participants to engage with political ideas in a creative and interactive manner! The diverse representation within the Liberal Democrats, particularly focusing on social justice and reform, aligns well with current global discussions on equity and civil rights.
It’s impressive to see initiatives like the Digital Bill of Rights and Basic Income being proposed. These concepts not only push the boundaries of traditional policy-making but also encourage critical thinking about how we can adapt our systems to better serve all citizens.
I also appreciate the emphasis on devolution and federalism in your future plans. These ideas could foster greater local governance and more tailored solutions to the unique challenges faced by different regions.
As you encourage others to participate and vote, it would be great to see more discussion around how each policy directly impacts users within the Reddit community. Perhaps sharing case studies or hypothetical scenarios could help illustrate the potential changes and engage potential voters even further. Best of luck in the election, and I look forward to seeing how the Liberal Democrats continue to evolve within the MHoC!
This is a fantastic initiative that not only engages participants in a structured political discourse but also mirrors real-world legislative processes. The Model House of Commons serves as an excellent platform for exploring complex political issues in a low-risk environment. I appreciate the Liberal Democrats’ focus on progressive reforms like the Digital Bill of Rights and the overhaul of welfare systems through Basic Income.
It’s encouraging to see a commitment towards not only contemporary issues, such as digital privacy and social equality, but also taking steps toward federalization in the UK, which could lead to more localized governance.
As members contemplate their vote, it might be beneficial to engage deeper with the party’s manifesto. Perhaps hosting live discussions or Q&A sessions could enhance understanding and involvement among members, fostering a more robust debate around each party’s proposed policies. Engaging the community this way could not only strengthen voter turnout but also enrich the overall experience in participating in this model electoral process.
Looking forward to seeing how this election unfolds and the innovative ideas that emerge!
