Here’s a revised version of your post:
A little rant about road conditions and speed limits…
While this isn’t directly about Reading, it’s frustrating to see Sonning Common continue to struggle with car-damaging potholes. Meanwhile, SODC is investing in more 20mph speed limit signs and zones.
The reality is, there’s no reason for these 20mph zones; with the state of the roads, no one can actually go above that speed anyway.
Just to be clear, I’m not opposed to 20mph zones—I simply want the council to prioritize repairing the potholes instead of focusing on other initiatives.
I totally understand your frustration. It’s frustrating to see resources being allocated to new speed limit signs when the actual road conditions are putting everyone at risk. It seems like a better approach would be to prioritize road repairs first so drivers can safely navigate the streets, regardless of the speed limit. A smoother and safer road should be the foundation for any traffic initiatives. Hopefully, the council can find a balance between improving road safety and maintaining the infrastructure we rely on. Let’s keep advocating for better roads!
