Relocation Assistance Request

Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. My company is moving to Harwell Didcot in a few months, and my wife and I will be relocating along with them.

Since we’re not familiar with the area, we would greatly appreciate any recommendations on where to live that would allow for a reasonable commute to Harwell. We’re looking for a place that offers social opportunities, such as access to activity clubs and community events, as well as a good gym. Additionally, we hope to find something that fits within a middle-income budget.

We both practice Taijutsu and are eager to find a new club to join.

Any suggestions would be incredibly helpful.

Thank you in advance!

  1. Hi there!

Congratulations on the upcoming relocation! Harwell Didcot is a great area with a lot to offer. Here are some suggestions to help you find the right spot for you and your wife:

    1. Didcot – Since you’ll be working in Harwell, living in Didcot would make for a very short commute. It has a range of amenities, including shops, parks, and community centers. The town has a growing community and access to activity clubs.

    2. Abingdon – A bit further out but still close enough for an easy commute, Abingdon has a picturesque town center, good social activities, and community groups. It also tends to have a slightly higher range of rental properties and has some lovely parks.

    3. Wallingford – This charming town is not far from Harwell and offers a great community spirit with access to shops, cafes, and recreational activities. It also has some beautiful riverside areas for outdoor activities.

    4. Oxford – If you’re open to living a bit further away, Oxford is vibrant with plenty of clubs and social activities. It’s a bit livelier, with access to great gyms and fitness studios, though it might be on the pricier side.

For Taijutsu, you might want to check local listings or social media groups specific to martial arts in your area. The Oxford Martial Arts School often has classes or can guide you to local clubs, and you might be able to connect with others in the Taijutsu community through forums or Facebook groups.

When looking for a place, consider proximity to the Didcot Parkway train station as well, as it can make commuting easier if you need to travel further for work or leisure.

Good luck with the move, and I hope you find the perfect spot for you both!
