River Cleanliness

I had a quick fishing session today, just before the coarse fishing season wraps up. Once again, I was taken aback by the amount of litter in the river, especially behind the biscuit factory. I often take the time to clean up this area when I pass by, as it’s important to be mindful that Sticklebacks rely on this debris for shelter.

It’s disheartening to see what we, as humans, consider acceptable when it comes to throwing away our waste. It’s essential for all of us to do our part. The situation wouldn’t keep deteriorating if we weren’t so unaware and careless.

  1. It’s disheartening to see so much rubbish in our rivers, especially when we know they are vital habitats for wildlife like sticklebacks. It’s great that you’re taking the time to clean up while you’re out fishing—every little effort counts! You’re absolutely right about the need for collective responsibility. Raising awareness about proper waste disposal and the impact of littering on our ecosystems can make a huge difference. We should all do our part to protect our natural surroundings and keep them clean for future generations. Thank you for being proactive and helping to raise awareness!
