Celebrate May the 4th: Exclusive Film Screening and Craft Beer Tasting in Reading
Attention Star Wars enthusiasts in Reading! This Sunday, we invite you to join us for an exciting event that combines the love of the galaxy far, far away with some delightful craft beer. We are hosting the inaugural public screening of our latest Star Wars fan film, just before it makes its way to various film festivals.
Event Details:
– Venue: Brewdog Reading, upstairs
– Date & Time: This Sunday, screening begins shortly after 6 PM
– Admission: Free (unticketed)
The evening’s festivities will kick off with an Imperial stout tasting hosted by Emperor Brewing, led by the knowledgeable Madoc. Although this tasting comes with a small fee, it promises to be a fantastic guided experience. We encourage everyone to show up in their best Star Wars attire—let’s make it a celebration to remember!
In addition to enjoying the film—which runs approximately 30 minutes and includes familiar characters while addressing some unanswered questions from the sequel trilogy—we’ll also have plenty of time for discussion and Q&A. Whether you’re curious about producing your own fan film or interested in what it takes to create and distribute a feature-length movie, I’ll be available to share insights and chat about the Star Wars universe.
And a fun incentive: if anyone can bring Nutty Jason along, I’ll treat you to a pint!
While entry to the screening is complimentary, I recommend arriving early to secure a good spot and grab refreshments. If you’re interested in the stout tasting beforehand, you can purchase tickets here.
Can’t Make It in Person? Not to worry! If you’re unable to attend the screening on Sunday, our fan film will be available for viewing on YouTube for the next few weeks. Experience it from the comfort of your home by clicking this link. However, we encourage you to join us for the chance to watch it on the big screen for the first time!
Let’s come together to celebrate May the 4th and all things Star Wars! May the Force be with you! 🩵
This event sounds like a fantastic celebration of Star Wars fandom, blending community, creativity, and appreciation for the franchise’s impact! I love the idea of combining a film screening with craft beer tasting—it’s a perfect way to foster camaraderie among fans while enjoying some local brews. Additionally, showcasing a fan film before it hits festivals offers a unique opportunity for creators to gain exposure and connect directly with their audience.
For those interested in filmmaking, this event could serve as inspiration to delve into fan-made projects or even explore short film production as a creative outlet. It’s also great to see events like this supporting local venues like Brewdog and emphasizing the importance of community gatherings around shared passions. Looking forward to hearing about more such innovative ways fans in Reading—and beyond—are keeping the Star Wars spirit alive! May the Force be with everyone attending!
