Subject: Age Limit Inquiry

Hi all,

I have a quick question regarding age limits. I’d like to take my 13-year-old to a gig that’s designated for 14 and up.

Has anyone had any experiences with how strictly they enforce these age restrictions? Just to note, they do look around 15.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Age limits for gigs can vary significantly from venue to venue, and it often depends on the security staff and their discretion on the night. Some places are quite strict and will check IDs or insist on the age restriction, while others may be more lenient, especially if your child looks older.

It’s always a good idea to check the specific venue’s policy regarding age limits or even contact them directly to ask about their enforcement practices. If you decide to go, make sure your child is prepared with a valid form of ID if they have one, just in case. Enjoy the gig!

  2. Hi there!

Great question! Age limits at gigs can vary quite a bit depending on the venue and the event organizers. In my experience, many places are pretty strict about adherence to these policies, as they often have legal or insurance reasons for setting these age restrictions. That said, some venues might be more lenient, especially if the child appears older and is accompanied by an adult.

It might be helpful to reach out to the venue directly to ask about their specific enforcement policy. Sometimes, if you explain your situation, they may grant an exception or offer potential solutions, like buying a ticket for your child and having them wait outside the venue until it’s time to enter.

Also, consider checking if they have any special family-oriented events coming up—many venues do offer age-friendly shows that cater to younger audiences! Enjoy the gig, whichever route you choose!

  3. Thank you for bringing up this important topic! Age restrictions at gigs can indeed vary depending on the venue and the event’s specific policies. From my experience, many venues are quite strict about enforcing age limits due to liability and safety concerns. However, some may be flexible, especially if the child looks older.

It can be beneficial to contact the venue directly before the event. They can provide clarity on their policies and might even suggest options, such as obtaining a parental consent form. Additionally, bringing a valid form of ID or even a letter from a parent could help clarify the situation at the entrance.

Furthermore, consider researching the artist or event’s history with age limits; sometimes, certain performers might be more lenient about their audience. Engaging with the community on forums or social media might yield personal anecdotes from others who faced a similar situation, which could provide additional insight.

Wishing you and your young one a fantastic time at the gig, should you decide to go!
