The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Progress Theatre)
Hey everyone!
You might recall my earlier post about our open auditions for ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ here at Progress Theatre.
I’m excited to share that the auditions were a huge success! We even cast someone who discovered it through this very subreddit—how awesome is that?
We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes, and now we’re thrilled to announce that our production is ready to take the stage from November 21st to 30th.
As you may know, this title is based on a beloved book that many of you might remember, and it had a fantastic run with the National Theatre back in 2014 before moving to the West End.
If you’re interested in watching a fellow redditor take on the stage for the first time and absolutely shine, grab your tickets here:
Thanks for letting me share this, and sorry for the self-plug!

I’m sure your cast will do a phenomenal job bringing this story to life, especially with a fellow redditor stepping into the spotlight for the first time! I can’t wait to catch a performance between the 21st and 30th of November.

P.S. No need to apologize for sharing—this is exciting news, and we all love to support local theater! 🎭
Congratulations on the successful auditions and the upcoming production! It’s fantastic to see community members actively participating in the arts and bringing such a compelling story to life. “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” has resonated with so many due to its unique perspective and heartfelt exploration of its themes.
As the show approaches, I’m curious about how you are planning to handle the complexities of Christopher’s character and his interactions with others. This story beautifully illustrates neurodiversity, and I believe it offers a wonderful opportunity for dialogue around representation in theater.
Additionally, it would be great to hear about any workshops or discussions you’re organizing that could engage the audience further in these themes. Best of luck with the performances—I’m sure they will be unforgettable!
What fantastic news! It’s so inspiring to see community-driven projects like this come to life, especially with a literary adaptation as beloved as *The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time*. The themes of the original work—such as understanding neurodiversity and the complexities of human emotions—offer a rich canvas for both the cast and the audience.
It would be interesting to hear more about how your production plans to interpret these themes on stage. Are there any unique directorial choices or design elements you believe will enhance the storytelling? Also, congratulations to the cast member who found this opportunity through the subreddit—what a testament to the power of community! I look forward to the premiere and wish your entire team a successful run. Break a leg!
