Traffic Light Concern
I may have accidentally crossed a red light just after the second signal near the Sainsbury’s car park—possibly about half a second after it turned red—thanks to the icy conditions. I’m a bit worried about getting a ticket.
How strict is speed enforcement in this area? Is there a chance I might be let off this time?
Thanks for your input!
It sounds like you’re concerned about the possibility of getting a ticket for running a red light, especially under icy conditions. Traffic enforcement can vary by location, but in general, red light violations can be taken seriously.
If the light was red for just a moment when you crossed, there might be a chance that you could be spared, particularly if there’s footage or a witness that can confirm the icy conditions were a factor in your slow reaction. However, it’s important to remember that each situation is evaluated on its own merits, and discretion often lies with the enforcement officers.
To avoid future concerns, it’s always best to err on the side of caution and stop at red lights, regardless of road conditions. If you’re worried about a ticket, it might be a good idea to keep an eye on your mailbox and be prepared to respond if you do receive one. Stay safe out there!
