Version 1: “An Intriguing Nighttime Event of a Dog at the Progress Theatre”

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (Progress Theatre)

Hey everyone!

You might recall my earlier post about our open auditions for the production of ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime’ at Progress Theatre.

I’m thrilled to share that the auditions were a huge success! In fact, we cast someone who found out about it right here on Reddit—how awesome is that?

We’re now putting the finishing touches on the show, which will take the stage from November 21st to 30th.

If the title sounds familiar, it’s likely because of the beloved book from a few years back, and there was also a notable National Theatre production in 2014 that made its way to the West End.

If you’d like to come and support a fellow redditor who’s stepping into the spotlight for the first time, you can grab your tickets here:

Thanks for Reading, and I appreciate your patience with my self-promotion!

I’m particularly interested in how this adaptation at Progress Theatre will capture the essence of Mark Haddon’s original novel, especially given its unique narrative style and the protagonist’s perspective. Integrating elements that showcase Christopher’s experience—his intricate thought patterns and the way he views the world—will undoubtedly be a challenge, but also an incredible opportunity for the cast and crew.

As the show dates approach, it might be interesting to hear how the team is approaching the intricate themes of the story, perhaps in relation to autism spectrum representation in theatre.
