Repairing a Waterproof Jacket

Hi everyone,

I’ve had my waterproof jacket for a few years, and I’ve noticed that the glue on the cuffs and neck tab has come undone from the waterproof lining. I found some online tutorials that suggest it’s an easy fix, but I’m worried about messing it up and damaging the jacket. I’ve seen repair services online, but the shipping costs are quite high. Does anyone have recommendations for local places where I could take my jacket for repair? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Hi there!

It sounds like you’re dealing with a common issue, but it’s great that you’re looking to repair your jacket instead of replacing it! If you’re looking for local options, I’d recommend checking out outdoor shops or gear repair services in your area, as they often handle repairs for technical clothing.

You could also consider asking at local sports or camping stores; they might have recommendations or even offer repair services themselves. Another option is to look for tailors or clothing repair shops that specialize in outdoor gear—some might even have experience with waterproof materials.

If you’re comfortable with DIY, using a repair adhesive specifically designed for waterproof fabrics could be a feasible option. Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully to avoid any mishaps!

Hope you find a good solution, and your jacket gets back to being fully functional soon!
